Hot Tub Disposal in Madison and Dane County
Updated
Short answer
A hot tub has to be cut into pieces one person can lift. Fitchburg's 2025 Pellitteri price for a cut-up four-seater is $100; Pellitteri's 2026 HOA sheet lists $124. Madison takes hot tubs as a large item (pieces under 8 feet), with a $35 fee only for private-recycling homes. National guides put hired removal at $200 to $600.
Covers are priced separately in Fitchburg: $20 for a 6-foot cover, $50 for 8 feet and up. Disconnect power through an electrician first. See hot tub removal.
